May 2008 problem

After you open SeeLogo type in the command line:

STARSK 1 5
STARSK 2 5

the "mathematical" problem is:

How many triangles do you see? (there are more than 20)

post your answer as a comment. You can write your name and your age.

additional activities.

you can type
NEW name (choose the name yourself)
and make beautiful pictures with the STARSK command and color them.
(the green box allows one to Fill an enclosed area with the selected color)

Explanation: STARSK means Star Skip and the two numbers that follow it mean something:
The second numbers tells how many points the star has and the first number tells how many points to skip. Some of the stars you can draw without lifting the pen from the paper and some not. This activity leads to natural and beautiful exploration with numbers.

Examples of another design:
STARSK 1 7
STARSK 2 7
STARSK 3 7
SIZE 3 IT

In the editor you will see something like (you could have typed it directly there)

size 3 [
starsk 1 7
starsk 2 7
starsk 3 7
]

You can then change the numbers and draw different shapes and paint them. To paint a region you can use the "fill" tool.
